Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Hawke's Bay on Friday afternoon, police have confirmed.
The accident occurred on State Highway 2 at Poukawa, southwest of Hastings, just after 2.30pm.
Both died at the scene, and a third person was critically injured.
The police's serious crash unit was at the scene, and enquiries were ongoing.
Detours were in place on SH50, which intersects with SH2.
