The names of two women who died in a crash in Eltham a week ago have been released today.
They were: Kylie-Jane Rebecca Savage, known as Janey Hardy, who was 49 and from Eltham, and 47-year-old Claire Gatenby from Palmerston North.
The women were the sole occupants of two cars that collided at the intersection of Boylan Road and Mountain Road on State Highway 3 before 6am on 31 January.
One of the cars was fully alight by the time firefighters arrived at the scene, police said at the time.
An investigation into the circumstances of the crash was continuing, police said.
