A woman has died in custody at the Wellington central police station.
Police say she was found unresponsive in the cells about 2.40am on Monday.
Despite receiving medical attention, the woman was unable to be revived.
She had been arrested late on Saturday over outstanding warrants.
An investigation has been launched.
