A section of Auckland's Southern Motorway will remain closed in both directions overnight following a fatal truck crash.
Police were called to the scene near Drury's Bremner Road overbridge, where the collision happened around 10.30am on Wednesday.
A person died after the truck drove through the median barrier near Drury, hitting a pillar of the Bremner overbridge, police said.
On Wednesday afternoon, the motorway was closed between Drury and Papakura while the wreckage was cleared and diversions were in place.
The section of motorway will stay closed overnight, and reopen to traffic at 5am on Thursday.
