Some primary school principals have accepted a pay offer that others have rejected.

The Primary Principals Collective Bargaining Union this afternoon ratified a deal that included a $4000 pay rise this year and a three percent increase next year.

The union was created by the Principals Federation 18 months ago and said it represented about 15 percent of primary principals.

The other union for primary principals, the Educational Institute Te Riu Roa, has not accepted the Ministry of Education's offer.

Secondary school principals were also represented by two unions - both of which have accepted a similar offer from the ministry.
