Two protesters have been charged with trespassing after being removed from Fonterra's Auckland headquarters, police say.
Greenpeace has targeted Fonterra with a protest calling for the government to urgently address the industry's greenhouse emissions to reduce climate change.
A small number of protesters gathered in front of the dairy giant's Auckland office, blocking the main entrance with what they said was flood-damaged furniture.
Greenpeace said it aimed to remind the government that Fonterra was the nation's biggest producer of climate emissions which helped fuel the recent destructive storms.
Campaigner Christine Rose said big dairy companies should be fully included in the emissions trading scheme.
"The government must address big dairy greenhouse gas emissions," Rose said.
The two charged protesters were taken from the scene in a police paddy wagon, she said.
Fonterra had not contacted Greenpeace, which would continue to call on the business to reduce its climate emissions.
In December, the government announced changes to its farm-level emissions pricing plan, including setting the levy as low as possible and increasing what types of trees and vegetation on farms can be used to offset emissions. Final decisions are due this year.
