The Climate Change Commission wants the public's input on how to cut damaging climate gases.
It is working up draft advice to give to the government on how to reach the reduction goal set for the 'emissions budget' period of 2026 to 2030.
This 'budget' is the total amount of greenhouse gases that can be put into the atmosphere over that time period.
The commission says consultation is open from 26 April until 20 June.
