Owners of a dairy on Auckland's North Shore are heartbroken after it was destroyed by fire overnight.

Fire and Emergency NZ crews received reports of the incident in Stanmore Bay just after 11pm on Wednesday.

The Bayview dairy is situated on the corner of Vipond Rd and Cooper Rd.

The owners said they had not slept all night and were "heartbroken".

The Silverdale Volunteer Fire Brigade said a second alarm was called in on arrival as the building was "fully involved" in fire.

"Crews got to work quickly to try and bring this large fire under control," the fire brigade said on social media.

"Further crews arrived from surrounding brigades including the Silverdale Volunteer Operational Support Unit, Manly Volunteer Fire Brigade, East Coast Bays and Auckland City."

The brigade said the fire was eventually brought under control - and no injuries were reported.

"Top effort from all involved who worked tirelessly through the night in incredibly windy and rainy conditions.

"Our thoughts remain with the family affected by this fire."
