A person involved in a truck crash on SH35 in Hicks Bay on the East Coast has died.
The police said a truck crashed into a bridge on Te Araroa Road, on State Highway 35 about 4.40pm.
Emergency services attended the scene.
The road has since been cheared.
Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash were continuing, police said.
Meanwhile, a truck has rolled on State Highway 2 near Mohaka in Hawke's Bay this evening.
As a result one lane of traffic is blocked and there may be significant delays for other motorists, police said.
