A Mongrel Mob associate, who was struck by a police car during a pursuit yesterday in Auckland, is due to appear in court today.

Police said the 37-year-old, who was discharged from hospital overnight, was facing "a range of serious charges".

The police chase yesterday caused traffic jams on west Auckland's motorway around Lincoln Road.

Detective senior sergeant Steve Salton said the man was expected in Auckland District Court today.

He has so far been charged with aggravated robbery and assaults with intent to rob.

Salton said further charges could be ruled out.
