The properties owned by two people allegedly involved in a major Wellington organised burglary ring have been restrained by police.

More than 3000 stolen items were recovered by police in November as part of Operation Trump Card.

Two men and one woman were charged with dishonesty offences and will appear in Wellington District Court next February.

Acting detective senior sergeant Alex Macdonald said the value of the 15 properties was being worked out but was expected to be in the millions.

The restraining orders were secured by police in the Wellington High Court.

"This should send a clear message that the asset recovery unit does not just target gangs, but anyone who wishes to profit off crime and cause harm to our communities," Macdonald said.
