Police have launched a homicide investigation after the body of a man was found at a house in Onerahi, Whangārei.
Detective Inspector Bridget Doell said police were called to the residential property at around 3pm on Thursday.
"At this stage, Police are not in a position to provide further details about the identity of the man, however will look to do so in due course."
Onerahi residents will see a continued police presence in the area over the coming days, he said.
A scene investigation would continue today and a post mortem and formal identification would be carried out in due course.
