Police have identified the body found in Lake Rotorua on Tuesday as a missing kayaker.
He was 18-year-old Gregory Flavell of Rotorua.
Flavell was reported missing while kayaking on Lake Rotorua on 10 August.
Police said his family would like to share their appreciation to all the teams who were involved in the search.
Those involved included police, including its maritime team, Coastguard, the navy, and LandSAR.
Flavell's death has been referred to the Coroner.
