The daily number of deaths with Covid-19 reported in New Zealand today has soared to 67 - including six people in their 20s - but the Ministry of Health says this is because of a "recent data reconciliation process".

In a statement, the Ministry said the 67 deaths include people who died between 12 May and 30 July, and only 25 were in the past week.
The 67 people who died with Covid-19 included six who were in their 20s, as well as three in their 30s, five in their 40s, four in their 50s, six in their 60s, 10 in their 70s, 22 were in their 80s and 11 aged over 90.
Twenty-seven were women and 40 were men.
Nine were from Northland, 16 were from Auckland region, seven were from Waikato, two were from Bay of Plenty, two were from Lakes, one was from Hawke's Bay, four were from Taranaki, six were from MidCentral, three were from the Wellington region, eight were from Canterbury, one was from West Coast, seven were from Southern.
The total toll of those whose deaths can be attributed to the virus has not been updated from 1479 yesterday. The Ministry said the average increase in deaths each day attributable to the coronavirus over the past week is now 18.
The number of community cases of Covid-19 and hospitalisations with the virus have fallen again today, with 6232 new cases and 769 people in hospital, down from 799 yesterday, with 18 in ICU .
There were 7605 new cases of Covid-19 in the community and a further 41 deaths with the virus reported yesterday.
The seven day rolling average of community cases is now at 7405, compared to 8703 this time last week.
The Ministry said 243 new cases have recently travelled overseas.
New Zealand has now recorded a total of 1,599,202 confirmed cases of Covid-19.
