There is no evidence to suggest a Dunedin man was assaulted before being hit by a car in the hillside suburb of Mornington last week, police say.

Sean Buis, who was 28, died in Eglinton Road last Thursday evening.
The police initially said they responded to reports of the Dunedin man being assaulted and run over.
They have now confirmed there's no indication he was assaulted before being hit by a car.
In recent days, officers have been door-knocking in the wider Mornington area in the hopes of finding CCTV footage.
No one has been arrested and police have not provided any details of the vehicle involved or its occupants.
