There are 1676 homes are without power in Titahi Bay and Paremata near Wellington.

Wellington Electricity said crews were on their way to investigate the cause of the outage this evening, which was reported just after 6pm.
We understand there is a large power outage in North/West suburbs. We don't have any further info from Wellington Electricity at this stage but we encourage you to contact your Electricity Provider for more info. We'll keep you updated once we know more.

The company said power was expected to be restored by 9pm.
