The arrested men, aged 29 and 33, are due to appear in Tauranga District Court today.

The fire caused extensive damage to a building on the property, which housed both Rainbow Youth's offices and Gender Dynamix - a mental health organisation for gender diverse people.

The historic village is home to both original and replica historic buildings.

Police say they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the fire, though enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
