A motorcyclist has died after a crash in Palmerston North and police want anyone who was travelling in the area to contact them.

A car and the motorbike collided just before 6pm on State Highway 56, Pioneer Highway, in the city, police said.
The motorcyclist died at the scene.
Drivers have been asked to avoid the area.
The road was closed between Longburn-Rongotea Road and Te Wanaka Road, and police said diversions were being set up.
"Police are appealing for anyone travelling in the area at the time to speak with Police so we can piece together what happened."
Anyone with information that could help is asked to contact police on 105.
