Police have charged a 20-year-old woman with carrying a fake gun with criminal intent and threatening to cause grievous bodily harm, after a video surfaced of a school fight in which a woman is seen waving what appears to be a gun.

Police today confirmed the gun was not real, but in fact a starter pistol for athletic races.
The woman will appear in Manukau District Court.
The woman is not a part of Otahuhu School, which the New Zealand Herald said the students involved attended, and the incident last Thursday was not on school grounds and happened after school hours.
