A police investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing and a number of witnesses are yet to be spoken to.

As part of their enquiries, police would like to hear from anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage showing vehicles travelling along Waimea Road at about 1.35am, between the intersection of Tukuka Street and Rutherford Street.
