Holland was last seen in the evening on Friday 11 March, and police said they are concerned for his welfare.

A search for the 31-year-old is continuing today.

Friends of Holland believed he had been planning to go for a swim at Pāpāmoa beach, near the end of Pacific View Road, police said.

He later did not show up for work, which was out of character.

"A search of the beach and surrounding areas has been conducted, however nothing has been found that would help ... understand where David might be," a police statement said.

Anyone who was at Pāpāmoa Beach at 7.30pm on Friday, who has seen Holland, or has information about his movements is asked to call police, on 105.
