A person has been seriously injured during a burglary in Napier.
The police were called to the home in the suburb of Taradale at around 3:30 yesterday morning.
One person was seriously injured and remains in hospital in stable condition.
A second person was also injured and is recovering at home, and a vehicle was extensively damaged.
The police believe it was a targeted attack and that there is no risk to the wider public.
"We are urging anyone who has information about this incident or those involved to get in touch with us," they said in a statement.
