Searchers are trying to find a swimmer missing in the Waikato River.

Police say emergency services received a report of a missing swimmer shortly after 6pm.
Police are coordinating the search.
They say initial reports indicate a group of four people went into the water but only three returned to shore.
A Westpac Rescue Helicopter crew has not found any sign, and searches by boat and jet ski downriver towards Claudelands Bridge were continuing until dark.
