Traffic is backed up on one of the country's busiest stretches of road during the holidays after a crash.

The crash occurred on State Highway One north of Auckland city between Puhoi and Warkworth.
The Transport Agency Waka Kotahi said the road was blocked near Cowan Bay Road.
As of 2.30pm, southbound delays were back to Dome Valley and northbound delays were back to Orewa.
Waka Kotahi has asked motorists to follow directions from emergency services and expect significant delays in both directions.
Motorists were also advised to avoid the area and consider using State Highway 16 as an alternate route.
