Police have launched a homicide investigation after a five-year-old boy died in Starship Hospital yesterday morning.

The boy, named by the police as Malachi Subecz, was initially hospitalised in Tauranga on 1 November, after emergency services found him at a Te Puna property with injuries.
After being treated at Tauranga Hospital, he was airlifted to Auckland.
Anyone who saw the young boy in recent months should call Police on 105 or Crimestoppers.
