Crash in Christchurch leaves one dead

One person has died following a crash on the QEII Drive off-ramp in Christchurch this morning.

Unexplained death in Taita, Lower Hutt early on Sunday 26th January 2020.  A Police cordon and crime scene invetsigation tent were in place Monday 27th January 2020.

The single vehicle crash happened at about 1.10am.

It is understood the person was the sole occupant in a vehicle travelling on SH74 prior to the crash, police said in a statement this afternoon.

The person died at the scene.

Police enquiries into the crash are ongoing.

Police also responded to a serious crash on Warspite Avenue and Driver Crescent in Porirua this afternoon.

A car and motorbike collided and one person was been taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Police were notified of the incident at 4.30pm.

There were diversions in place and Police advised motorists to expect delays.
