A 31-year-old man has been charged with murder after the death of a teenager who was taken to hospital with critical injuries.
Misiona Talafu Petelo, 19, from Papatoetoe, died in Middlemore Hospital on Saturday night following a shooting incident which occurred earlier in the evening on Massey Road in Māngere.
The man who has been charged will appear in the Manukau District Court tomorrow.
Detective Senior Sergeant Kevin Tiernan of Counties Manukau CIB said police had been providing support to the victim's whānau.
Police enquiries are continuing.
