Auckland couple charged after breaching lockdown rules and flying to Wanaka

The Auckland couple that travelled to Wanaka while the supercity was at Covid-19 alert level 4 have been charged.

Police said the William Willis, 35, and Hannah Rawnsley, 26, have been summonsed to appear in court on a charge of failing to comply with the Covid-19 health order.

Police said the couple used used essential worker exemptions to travel from Auckland to Wanaka.

They are expected to appear in the Papakura District Court on 14 October 2021.
