NZ director of The Crown Jessica Hobbs wins Outstanding Director Emmy award

New Zealand director Jessica Hobbs has won an Emmy award for The Crown.

Hobbs takes home an Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series.

It was not the only win for the series on the night.

Tobias Menzies, who plays Prince Phillip in The Crown has won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series alongside Gillian Anderson who picked up the Outstanding Supporting Actress Emmy for her role as Margaret Thatcher.

Writer Peter Morgan was also honoured for his work on the series.

The Crown also received the Best Drama Series award - a milestone for Netflix.
