A person is in a serious condition after being trapped for several hours when a truck crashed north of Napier.

Emergency services were called to the crash in Tangoio, about 30 minutes from Napier, just before 2pm.
St John confirmed a person was flown to Hawke's Bay Hospital in a serious condition more than three hours later.
The road remains closed.
