Magnitude 6.3 quake hits Kermadec Islands region near NZ

A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck the Kermadec Islands region near New Zealand, the US Geological Survey (USGS) says.

The US Geological Survey said the quake measured 6.3 and was at a depth of 10km.

The quake had a depth of 10km, USGS said.

The US Tsunami Warning System said there was no tsunami warning after the earthquake.
