Two men to appear in court after anti-lockdown protest in Auckland

Two men are due to appear in court today following an anti-lockdown protest in central Auckland yesterday.

Police say each man is facing two charges under the Covid-19 Public Health Response Act, and one charge under the Search and Surveillance Act.

A woman has also been charged in relation to the protest - she is set to appear in court next week.

In Tauranga, three of the four people arrested yesterday have been issued with formal warnings.

Police say the fourth, a 56-year-old woman, is facing one charge under the Health Act and will appear in court next week.
