One person has died and two were seriously injured in a crash in the town of Ngātea of Hauraki District.
Police were notified about the two-car crash at the intersection of Pipiroa Road and Rawerawe Road at 3.20pm.
The injured people were transported to hospital.
Cordons remain in place around the crash scene and motorists are asked to take alternative routes where possible.
