Two people are dead and three others have serious injuries after a crash in Auckland this morning.

State Highway 1 is closed south of East Tamaki while the scene is cleared.
The crash occurred between the Highbrook Drive on and off ramps at around 3.30am.
Police say the road could be closed for some time.
