One person has died in an early morning house fire in Wairarapa.

Emergency services were alerted to the fire on White Rock Road, Martinborough, just after 1am.
Another person who was in the house managed to escape to a neighbour's.
They are being treated for smoke inhalation.
The fire is not being treated as suspicious at the moment, and a scene examination is expected to begin later today.
