Two injured in light plane crash in North Canterbury

A light plane crashed in North Canterbury this morning.

St John spokesperson Gerard Campbell said they were notified of the crash - near Rakahuri Road, Glentui - just after 11.30am today.

Campbell said two people were injured in the crash.

A police spokesperson said initial indications were that all occupants got themselves out of the aircraft following the crash.

The person with serious injuries was taken by helicopter to Christchurch Hospital, while another person with moderate injuries was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
