A 27-year-old has been arrested and charged with kidnapping and wounding with intent after a serious assault that left a man fighting for his life.

The assault occurred in Manurewa in South Auckland on Friday evening. The victim was located at a Friedlanders Rd address on Saturday afternoon. He remains in a critical condition in Auckland Hospital.
Detective Senior Sergeant Veronica McPherson, from Counties Manukau CIB, said the victim and the alleged offender were known to each other and that police were not seeking anyone else in relation to the assault.
The man has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and kidnapping.
He is due to appear in the Manukau District Court on Monday 19 April.
