A person has serious injuries after being stabbed in the Christchurch suburb of Waltham.

Police were called about 4pm after reports a person was held up at knife point and had their phone stolen.
Police responded to an assault on nearby Isabella Place a short time later.
They said a person was stabbed and had serious injuries.
They later arrested someone in relation to the stabbing.
