A person has been charged after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident in Lower Hutt on Saturday, police say.

A 27-year-old man will appear in court next week on charges of careless driving causing injury and failing to stop to ascertain injury.
Earlier this week, police found a vehicle believed to have been involved.
Police thanked people who helped with their investigation.
