The assault happened at the Coroglen Tavern last night when several police officers went to the pub in response to a call out on a family harm matter.

While arresting one person, two officers were allegedly assaulted by a second person.

One received medical treatment from ambulance staff.

A 33-year-old woman has been arrested and faces charges of assault with intent to injure, and assault on police, and is due to appear in the Thames District court on 11 January.

The isolated rural tavern frequently hosts large crowds of holiday-makers in summer, and had a line-up of New Zealand bands performing last night.
