Police have released the name of a man who died in the Catlins on Sunday.
Jake Bridson, 23, died during a diving incident at Owaka Heads after he was separated from his group.
Police were called to the scene in a remote area at midday and Bridson was found just before 2pm.
He could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bridson's death will be referred to the Coroner.
