A person has died after a two vehicle crash in Wairarapa this morning.

Police were called to Nikau Road, west of Pahiatua, just before 5am.
Another person has suffered serious injuries and has been taken to hospital.
The road is closed and people are asked to avoid the area.
It marks the seventh death on the roads during the Christmas - New Year period.
