The Ministry of Health also said a New Zealander in Taiwan had tested positive for Covid-19, officials there have reported, but they have not been in New Zealand while infectious and do not pose a health risk to the New Zealand public.
There are no new cases in the community.
In a statement the ministry said with 17 recoveries, active cases stand at 49 and confirmed cases at 1772.
One case arrived on 13 December from South Africa via the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and tested positive after symptoms appeared.
One person arrived on 14 December from the United States and tested positive around day three of their stay, but has been classified as a historical case.
Two cases arrived on 15 December - from the United States and the Czech Republic via UAE - and were identified in day three and day six testing respectively.
Three cases arrived on 17 December - two from the US and one from the UK via Qatar - and were identified in day three testing.
At the last Ministry of Health update on Monday afternoon, there were five new cases of Covid-19 in the country, all in managed isolation facilities.
Overseas, EU countries are being urged by to cancel their bans on travel from the UK to avoid supply chain disruption, after a new and more virulent strain of the Covid-19 coronavirus led to a spike in cases in Britain.
The last continent untouched by Covid-19, Antarctica, has also recently had its first cases after 36 Chileans at a research station there tested positive.
The next case numbers update for New Zealand is expected to be Sunday 27 December, barring significant developments. From then, the Ministry plans to provide updates on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays until at least 10 January.
