Police have launched a homicide investigation following the death of a woman in Hamilton last night.

Officers were called to a report of an assault at a Kentucky Crescent address at around 11.15pm.
On arrival they found a seriously injured 30-year-old woman, who died at the scene a short time later.
A 34-year-old man has been charged with murder and was due to appear in the Hamilton District Court on Thursday morning
A scene guard was in place at the Kentucky Crescent address and a second address while investigators carried out scene examinations.
