A man who was sought over the death of Zane Smith in Wellsford has been found unresponsive at a property in Auckland, police say.
Smith, 37, from Rodney was found shot dead on Saturday.
Detective Inspector Scott Beard said the 45-year-old man police were seeking over Smith's death was found unresponsive this morning at an Auckland property and transferred to hospital by ambulance.
He would be held there under guard, Beard said.
A 21-year-old woman who was also sought over the killing handed herself in to police today.
She has been charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder and appeared in court this afternoon.
She was granted bail and remanded to appear again on 16 December.
Police this week said the victim and the alleged offender were known to each other.
Beard said although inquiries were continuing, police were not seeking anyone else in relation to the killing.
