Police on Saturday located a body in the search for Elizabeth, or Ying Zhong, however it has not yet been formally identified.

The body was found in the eastern suburb of Sunnyhills.

Detective Inspector Shaun Vickers said while formal identification was yet to be completed, police believed the body to be that of Elizabeth.

The 55-year-old businesswoman was reported missing from Counties Manukau East yesterday.

Vickers said a post-mortem examination had taken place and a scene examination was ongoing.

Inquiries have continued in the area where the body was found.

Police have also been talking to Zhong's friends, family and associates.
