A fatal aircraft crash in Upper Hutt has been referred to the Coroner.

Police were alerted to the light aircraft going down in the Kaitoke area shortly before 2pm.
The craft and the body of the sole occupant were found after a brief search.
The Civil Aviation Authority has been notified.
