Jellicoe Park homicide case: Assault charges upgraded to murder for two accused

Two men have been charged with murder in relation to the death of a man at an Auckland park earlier this month.

Nigel Fuatimu, 21, died after being attacked in Jellicoe Park in Manurewa on 3 October.

Earlier this month, police arrested and charged four men with assault.

Detective Inspector Warrick Adkin said those charges have been upgraded and two of those men - aged 23 and 24 - were now facing murder charges.

The others, both 26, are facing charges of aggravated robbery.

All four men are expected to appear in the Manukau District Court today.
