A fisherman has died after falling into the water in west Auckland. Police were called to Whites Beach in Anawhata at 2.45pm.
Emergency services attended the scene and the person was pulled from the water by surf lifesavers.
Attempts to revive the person were unsuccessful and they died at the scene.
The incident is separate to another search for a rock fisher missing from Bethells Beach, about 5 kilometres north of Anawhata.
