Police in Palmerston North have charged a man with murder and launched a homicide investigation, following a man's death yesterday.

The 32-year-old will appear in court today.
Detective Inspector Ross McKay said a 34-year-old man sustained serious injuries after an incident in the suburb of Awapuni yesterday morning.
He later died in hospital.
Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of Rugby St yesterday.
